All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards perform anywhere on a mountain. This includes groomed runs, backcountry, and park. They are either directional or twin. This means that they are either ment to be riden one direction or riding both directions. Most people who snowboard ride an all-mountain board. This board is best for all terrains and conditions.

Splitboard
A splitboard is essentially a normal snowboard which splits into two halves. These halves become skis for travelling uphill and provide traction for climbing. Then, they can reattatch to ski down the hill. This board is best for climbing in the backcountry.
